Update on Clark

Thank y'all so much for all your prayers for Clark recently! At his last appointment they discovered several more lesions on his bones, and found that one of them was preventing his broken arm from healing.
Today he started chemo and radiation pinpointing the main lesions on his knee and shoulder. Please pray that this will kill the cancer cells, and that he will not have the usual side effects of these traditional treatments.

What We're Praying

Recently, our local family helped us compile a list of the specific things we are praying in all this:

Not much of an update....

because not much has changed. The cancer Daddy has is rare- about 150 cases a year- so there is not a lot of information to guide decisions. There are treatments that look promising, and choosing which way to go is where we are. Meanwhile, Daddy is stable, looking to God for the answers, and walking out what faith really is: moment by moment dependence on God. God is here, IN the waiting, and more and more I see that that is the point. Knowing God!

One step at a time

God is faithfully leading us, not in a "Here is the whole big picture" way, but one step at a time. (Oh wait, that's how He tends to do things, huh?) He has led us to a doctor who is familiar with cases like Daddy's, and who has given us more information and a better working plan than we've had thus far. Praise God! We are confident that God will continue to show Himself faithful, as He always has! Thank you for your prayers!

Waiting...

What is there to say when there are more questions than answers? I know many of you want to stay updated so you will to know how to pray, and that means so much to us right now!

Believe it or not, we really do not know much more than the last time I posted. There have been more tests and more appointments, more lesions and more damage, but no more answers. The doctors are puzzled, but God is not!

So, our specific prayer requests are:

~Healing
~Clear direction for the next step

I personally am very comforted and held by God in the middle of this storm, and have never found him to be so REAL and near. He has not brought us this far to leave us now, and He knows exactly what the next step is.

"Ye shall not need to fight in this battle:
set yourselves, stand ye still,
and see the salvation of the LORD..."
~II Chronicles 20:17

Thank you for praying, believing He is hearing and answering!

A very quick update.

To those of you who have shown our family the love of God through your prayers, encouragement, and gifts during this time, we cannot say a thank you big enough to even begin to express our gratitude. We are amazed, humbled, and so very thankful for you!!!

The surgery to repair Daddy’s arm went as planned and he is recovering well from it. There are many unknowns right now, but what we do know is that some form of multiple myeloma is responsible for the bone lesions. The two main concerns now are:

1. Structure, preventing any further injury to compromised bones.
2. Cancer, identifying and treating it.

The Lord has opened doors and directed decisions this week in a way that reassures all of us that He is HERE, in the storm!  Thank you for continuing to pray with us as we find out what’s next.

Prayers needed.

As many of you already know, Dad has been having some pain in his knee and shoulder for awhile. Then about 3 weeks ago, they found several lesions on his leg and shoulder, and have been trying to determine exactly what they are. They said it was definitely something that attacks bone, But none of the tests have been telling for sure what it is. Then on Monday afternoon he was working and was going to throw something, when he did though, it broke the bone in his right upper arm that was weakened from the lesion. It actually twisted the bone in half so it will have to be operated on to reset it.     So all that said, surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 6 am. Your prayers will be greatly appreciated and needed! And thank you to all that have been praying for us!

PS. Please excuse the poor punctuation and general mayhem I have probably made of this post, for writing has always been my most hated subject and still is! :))
