Books We've Read

It is no secret that the Wilsons are a family of voracious bookworms. :) Here is a partial list of the great reads we've found!

The King James Bible. Can't live without it!
Arch Books for children... Bible stories written in rhyme. Our little ones can recite these on cue :)
Character Sketches Volumes 1, 2 & 3 (iblp.org) ... animals, nature, and more from a Biblical/ Creationist worldview.
Anything bearing the name of Elisabeth Elliot. Allison and Lana, especially, love her books. She is the quintessential Titus 2 woman!
Created For Work  and Boyhood And Beyond by Bob Shultz. Great reading for guys!
Every Young Man's Battle and Every Young Man, God's Man by Steven Arterburn and Fred Stoeker. Another one for the guys!
All of Steve Chapman's books (steveandanniechapman.com) Inspirational/ Christian living stories written by a hunter, for hunters. Need I say, the guys love 'em. :)
Created To Be A Helpmeet and Preparing To Be A Helpmeet by Debi Pearl. Should be mandatory reading for women everywhere!
Why I Believe by D. James Kennedy. There's a difference between knowing what you believe and knowing WHY you believe it. Great book on apologetics! Along the same lines is The Case For Christ by Lee Strobel, also a great book.
The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom. A story of God's hand at work in the middle of Nazi- occupied Holland.
Evidence Not Seen by Darlene Diebler Rose. The incredible story of a missionary imprisoned in New Guinea during WWII.
The Reverend Spy by David Denton. This is a must read. You won't be able to put it down.
Do Hard Things and the sequel, Start Here, by Alex and Brett Harris. A great book by the founders of the Rebelution!
Large Family Logistics by Kim Brenneman. Everything you need to know about running a larger-than-normal household!
Anything by Douglas Bond...fabulous historical fiction written from a strong Christian viewpoint. Some of our favorites are the Crown and Covenant Trilogy and Hostage Lands.
Lysbeth and Pearl Maiden by H. Rider Haggard. Incredible historical fiction.
The Shepherd Of The Hills by Harold Bell Wright. A classic!
Titus: A Comrade Of The Cross by Florence M. Kingsley. Biblical fiction novel set at the the time of Christ.

  2. The Family Daughter by Sarah Bryant should also be a must read for all ladies. Ray Comfort's "The Way of the Master" and "God Doesn't Believe in Atheists" are also great evangelism tools. King's Blooming Rose Magazine is also a great encouragement.
